Presbyopia
Presbyopia, a common age-related vision disorder characterized by a progressive inability to focus on near objects. It’s usually becomes noticeable in early to mid-40s and continues to worsen until around age 65a. More than 2 billion people worldwide by 2030 are estimated to be affected by the condition as the elderly population increaseb.
Methods to correct presbyopia include lens systems correction, surgical interventions, or attempt to partially restore active accommodation of lens through pharmacological meansC .Two major categories of topical pharmacological options are currently under investigation, defined as:
- those working via pupil modulation, and
- those aiming to restore accommodation ability of lens
TO-O-1005 eye drops is in early stage of pre-clinical study.
